The King of Mars

We are kicking off the 2026 Rock The Wood Summer Concert Series with a bang! Join us on May 1st as we welcome Chicago’s own The King of Mars to the Tangled Wood stage.

Described as the “sonic baby of Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers,” The King of Mars brings a high-energy fusion of alternative rock, funk, and soul. Led by frontman John Bruner, this group pairs thunderous guitar riffs and infectious hooks with a full horn section and auxiliary percussion for a sound that is as sophisticated as it is electrifying.

• Atmosphere: Family-friendly outdoor amphitheater with plenty of green space.
• Food & Drink: Our outdoor bar and grill will be fired up and ready to serve.
• Rules: No outside food or drink is permitted. Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs for the best seat in the house!
