We love a good first impression! On Friday, August 7, we are thrilled to welcome Velvet Suns to the Tangled Wood stage for their very first appearance in our summer concert series.

Velvet Suns is a powerhouse rock band that isn’t afraid to show its outlaw country roots. Led by the soulful, commanding vocals of Melissa Lanpher—a longtime Nashville veteran—the band delivers a high-octane performance that feels both nostalgic and brand new. Backed by the tight, heavy-hitting rhythms of Benji Valdez, Chase Whicker, and Andy Valdez, they specialize in a charismatic stage presence that has been packing venues across the region. Whether they’re leaning into gritty rock riffs or soaring country harmonies, the Velvet Suns bring a raw, authentic energy that was made for a summer night in the Wood.

• Seating: Our amphitheater lawn is first-come, first-served. Grab your lawn chairs and find a spot early—you’ll want a front-row seat for this one.
• Food & Drink: No need for a cooler. Our outdoor bars and grill will be serving up craft beers, summer cocktails, and our full menu of Wood-fired favorites.
• Reminder: To keep the music playing and admission free, please remember: no outside food or beverages are permitted on the property.
