Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey

Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon has a nose of apple and cinnamon, with hints of vanilla and caramel. The initial flavor profile is sweet, with notes of peaches, pears and dried apricots. The flavors fade to a touch of cinnamon and baking spices and finish with notes of maple syrup and molasses. Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon earned the Chairman’s Trophy as the world’s best bourbon at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in 2012 and 2013, scoring three points higher than Pappy Van Winkle’s 23 Year Old Bourbon in 2012 and two points higher than Pappy Van Winkle’s 20 Year Old Bourbon in 2013. In addition, the bourbon earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012 and was said to be “liquid gold” in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

Named in honor of Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr., Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch Bourbon is made from a blend of seven-year old barrels hallowed from the sixth floor of a brick warehouse in Kentucky. Bottled in Bond at 100 proof, the bourbon has distinctive notes of oak and dried fruit. The initially sweet flavors give way to hints of salted caramel, butterscotch and orange, which linger on the finish. Each bottle of Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch Bourbon is packaged behind a vintage label and canister reminiscent of the bottles Taylor used over one hundred years ago.

Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon is aged for 11 years and 7 months in new, American oak casks in a century-old warehouse constructed by Taylor. Once the bourbon has reached its peak of maturity, it is bottled in bond at 100 proof. Taylor Single Barrel Bourbon has an aroma of oaky spices, figs and maple syrup. The notes of orange peel, dates, roasted nuts and tobacco lead to a sweet finish that is complemented by a hint of intense oak. Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon earned the Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2012, and earned a score of 94 points from Wine Enthusiast. In addition, it earned a score of 97 points β two points higher than Pappy Van Winkle 23YO Bourbon β at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in 2012.

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Warehouse C Bourbon Whiskey

Warehouse C was built by E.H. Taylor in 1885 and quickly became his favorite β the final piece of the puzzle for his distillery. This whiskey is a one-time-only release, meaning that it’s a very limited expression. These barrels have spent 10 years in the center Warehouse C, half of them sitting on the 2nd, the other half on the 5th floor. The 2nd floor is perfect for older barrels with its dry floor and tightly packed barrels, while the 5th floor has plenty of windows that provide air flow and sunlight. It’s a wonderfully flavorful 100-proof bourbon.

Eagle Rare – Kentucky Burbon 10 yr

Aged for a minimum of ten years, this Kentucky straight bourbon was named the “Best Bourbon” at the 2013 International Wine and Spirits Competition and won a Gold Medal at the World Whisky Masters in 2017. Eagle Rare 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was matured for a minimum of ten years in new, American oak casks under the intense, Kentucky sun. As a result of its decade-long beauty rest, the bourbon has a golden honey color, along with an aroma of gentle toast, fresh tobacco, and bananas. The aroma gives way to notes of chocolate, almonds, melons, raisins and dried fruits on the palate, which are complemented by a subtle vanilla undertone. The finish is long and fierce, with hints of roasted nuts and corn.

As the number of fans grew, their inventory of aged whiskey dwindled. A blend of 10-year-old Kentucky straight rye and Whiskey aged more than 13 years in new charred oak barrels, it’s a sweet and full-flavored expression that is going to please fans for one last time.

Kentucky Owl – St Patty Edition

This limited-edition whiskey is a collaboration between Kentucky Owl’s own Master Blender John Rhea and Louise McGuane of J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey fame. Kentucky Owl St. Patrick’s Edition is a limited-release blend of Kentucky straight bourbons aged between 4 and 8 years. With each contributing their own aromas and flavors, you’ll find caramel and vanilla notes from the older whiskey, fruit and spice from high-rye bourbons, as well as sweetness and citrus from the wheated bourbon. The expression is a collaboration between Kentucky Owl’s own Master Blender John Rhea and Louise McGuane of J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey fame. It’s bottled at 100 proof.

Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Old 107 Proof Bourbon

While Prohibition forced most distilleries to close their doors soon thereafter, Van Winkle was granted a license to continue operating his distillery and producing whiskey for medicinal purposes. By the time of his death in 1966 (at the age of 91), Van Winkle was the oldest active distiller in the country. This Van Winkle Bourbon cuts as close to barrel proof as possible. Just a splash of Kentucky limestone well-water and this Whiskey is ready for bottling. This whiskey is as smooth with rich copper hues, and a compellingly sweet palate. Itβs a big, bold, aged bourbon that has great balance for its high proof and flavor.

Stagg Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon (Batch 13)

The distillery released their first Stagg Jr. in August of 2013 and they have produced about two batches every year. Each batch of Stagg is blended from bourbons aged approximately 8 or 9 years, and released at a high and unique barrel proof. The proof numbers are used to identify specific batches. These releases have received plenty of praise over the years and are beloved by many bourbon enthusiasts. Batch 13 of the Stagg Jr. was released in 2020 and it retains the intensity and complexity of the previous releases. It has spent 8 years in new charred American oak barrels. Uncut and unfiltered, it’s bottled at 128.4 proof, making it a “Jr.” in name only.
